Dorrigo Folk & Bluegrass Festival

featuring the very best Folk and Bluegrass from local & international artists

Dorrigo Folk & Bluegrass Festival is an acoustic weekend of concerts, workshops, jamming, dancing and more, focused primarily on Old-Time, Bluegrass and Folk traditions.

A family friendly festival with something for everyone. We encourage participation from all ages and are dedicated to sharing our love of music. Dorrigo Folk & Bluegrass Festival Inc. would like to acknowledge that this festival is held on the traditional lands of the Gumbaynggirr people, and pay our respect to elders both past and present.

Welcome to 2018.

We hope that the year ahead finds you all on a gentler and proportional path where music weaves a strengthening tie between us all.

We look forward to presenting our 17th festival and hope your path may lead you to Dorrigo Mountain this coming October.

Last years festival was once again an outstanding success and we would like to thank again everyone who helped to make it so.

Dorrigo Folk & Bluegrass Festival Inc. will continue to bring the very best of the folk, bluegrass and old-timey worlds to the plateau. We also acknowledge and respect the importance of traditions and heritage, and the exploration of these genres that may sometimes be challenging but at the same time allows us to encompass our musicians as they explore new territories.

An exciting part of this commitment took place last year as we presented our Inaugural Old-Time Music School. The Old-Time Music School is running again this year preceding the festival on the 24th, 25th and 26th October. It is a priority to engage tutors who once again have the knowledge, heritage and respect of the genre to pass on the important traditions of old-time music. This year we are incredibly excited to introduce our tutors: Paul Brown (NC), Terri McMurray (NC), Mike Bryant (TN), Marcia Bryant (TN), Andrew Small (NC) and Ashlee Watkins (AUS). Bookings are open from the 19th March.

We will also hold throughout the weekend bluegrass workshops featuring recognised tutors from the USA.

We look forward to receiving Performer Applications which will be welcomed until the 14th May 2018.
