Welcome to 2010 and the 9th annual

Dorrigo Folk and Bluegrass Festival

This year the Festival will be held on the weekend of the 22rd, 23rd and 24th October.

We welcome old and new festival patrons to an intimate and friendly weekend of acoustic music featuring some of Australia’s best Folk and Bluegrass, and Old-time country musicians

It’s a time when our picturesque Dorrigo Showground comes alive with three days of concerts,
workshops, dance, jamming, impromptu performances, poetry and children’s entertainment.

Performer applications are now being received for the 2010 Festival – Please go to the Performer Applications Tab and follow the links... Thank you to those performers who have already applied and a reminder that applications will close at the end of May. We would hope then to have the final performer list available by the end of June, sounds good!

The website is currently being updated, with new performer info, a review of previous years and a photo gallery in the pipeline.  For those of you already planning to come for the festival, the ticketing page will be available soon with our early bird tickets available.

And now for a few things to look forward to!

One of Australia's best known and most loved Indigenous acts, Stiff Gins will be up on the mountain for the weekend. These two women combine their stunning harmonies and wicked humour to transport you to a world of joy, spirit and song...

“Breaking New Ground” is exactly what South Australian born Kristy Cox has done, and she will be performing at the festival with her own especially selected Bluegrass band. We have tried over the years to feature locally made bluegrass music and we are really pleased to have yet another highly talented young artist perform at the festival.

Last year we had a taste of what the dynamic Junes have been doing, and this year they are back for the whole weekend.

Our Poets Breakfasts return with Peter Mace and Gabbi Kahune hosting the event in the Heritage Hotel and possibly something extra up at the festival site.

We are really pleased to announce that Mundy-Turner (Cath Mundy and Jay Turner) will be performing and also conducting a festival choir, a first for Dorrigo. Cath and Jay have been busy running two choirs South of Brisbane "Freedom Train” and “Mixed Beans” so come along prepared to do some vocal work leading up to a performance on the Sunday afternoon.

Camping is available adjacent to the festival site.  We do ask that patrons assist in keeping our festival site alcohol and smoke free. We are committed to continuing our reputation of being a family-friendly festival, so this year we will be banning dogs from the actual festival site.

On both Saturday and Sunday mornings there is the opportunity to stroll  into the township of Dorrigo, where the local cafes put on a breakfast menu and have performances by a number of the festival artists.
